Making your own perfume is a great way of expressing your individuality because you can be sure that no one else is wearing the same scent as you. It's also great fun, and not to mention much cheaper than buying expensive 'designer name' perfumes. Start by choosing your favorite essential oil or concentrate - you can choose absolutely anything you like!
Now, mix the essential oil of your choice with about 100 ml of strong alcohol (some very strong unflavored vodka is ideal). Stir the essential oil into the vodka until thoroughly mixed and leave to one side for 48 hours. Add 2 tablespoons of distilled water, and again mix and leave for 48 hours. Filter your perfume through a coffee filter and store in a sealed bottle. If you find the fragrance is too strong you can dilute it with more of the distilled water.
