Overcome your insomnia

Lavender has long been used a home remedy to overcome insomnia and other sleep problems. Lavender has the ability to depress the nervous system in the same way that tranquilizers or sleeping pills do. You can brew a cup of lavender tea using a teaspoon of fresh flowers - or 1/2 a teaspoon of dried flowers - mixed with a cup of boiling water and left to steep for 5 minutes.
You may also want to make a lavender sachet that can be placed underneath your pillow or hung beside your bed. Simply sew 3 sides of a handkerchief or cloth together to form a pouch. Fill with lavender stems, leaves or buds and about 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Loosely sew the pouch closed and hang at the side of your bed or place under your pillow.
