For a nice, freeze free, shinny hair use beer.

After you wash your hair and rinse well, use 1/2-1 cup of beer, depending of the length of your hair, directly to your wet hair. Leave it in. Do not rinse. Towel dry and blow-dry your hair like you normally do.
Don't be afraid of using it because of the smell. Once it's dry your hair it's going to smell like your shampoo that you used or conditioner.
