Hello, my name is Laura, I live in Germany and for the last 15 years I was known mostly as "mom". I will like to share with you a nice experience and to guide you if you wish to escape from your daily routine.

I'm a normal person with normal life and responsibilities including children, full time job and a stubborn husband. Since I get married and I had my two gorgeous kids I sacrificed bit by bit the time for myself; in time I noticed that all the things that I do become to stereotypical, mechanic. Some of you may say this is normal, but this doesn't comfort me at all: I used to believe that life is more then expectation, is discovery, and I still believe that.

As I was saying, bored and unsatisfied by myself I started to change things: first changing my hair color, than the cloths and make up, then starting to traveling again, feeling more independent and powerful. Happy me, after a while my husband start enjoyed my new lifestyle, even more he start enjoying my shopping escapes to Milano, Venice, or short trips to Prague, Budapest or Amsterdam. No mather where we are travelling, there is always an activity we must check on our travel book: I must have a beauty treatment in a local salon, usually reccommended by people from the hotel I/we stay. What I am intended to do here is to share best 2 of my "beauty salon" experiences: best of all, without any doubt, was in Bristol: Victorias Beauty Salon, and the other was in Amsterdam: Top Thai Spa.

Victorias Beauty Salon, Bristol

Was a raining day in Bristol so, than one day my best friend suggested to spend it in a beauty salon (this was our dream since we were students having survivals jobs). We did it and it was incredible, until than I didn't know that is possible to rent a room or the entire salon only for yourself.
Sincerely, at Victorias Beauty Salon you are not a client, you are a princess: you have a feeling of satisfaction and please at the same time. Professional employs are determined to make you feel this way. Usually I get a face and body complete treatment. At Victorias Beauty Salon I had, as usually, a complex facial and body treatment, it took almost 2 wonderful hours and was not expensive (comparing to other places I've been).
I have been to many salons but only in this place I feel different and if you live in Bristol or you are passing through it follow my advice and visit Victorias Beauty Salon (2 Cleeve Wood Road, Bristol).

Top Thai Spa & Hair Salon, Amsterdam

Or, if you are in Amsterdam get something special: a Thai relaxing massage that takes about 90 minutes, as far as I remember, and, if you are visiting Amsterdam as a tourist, don't forget to ask for a Thai foot massage (40-60 great minutes). Visiting Top Thai Spa in Amsterdam might seems to you like something that you already heard or know about, but I tell you that this is one special. It's easy to reach the place (quite in the center, near central railway station) and easy to make an appointment, they have also a nice web site with prices and everything. You could get discounts too, it depends on the treatments that you intend to follow after you make an appointment.

Emporium, Ljubljana

One more place to be if you are "hunting" for shopping: if in Ljubljana don't forget to reserve a day to spend in Emporium Shopping Center: is one of the biggest and, most important, cheapest shopping centers I've been. It is cheap if you think that you can buy Versace or Armani at half price then Italy, so even doing a trip to Ljubljana only for shopping it is a great deal. Thinking that you can find cheap flights, very good hotels and incredible good, cheap restaurants in a very nice, cosy city, I think it can be a great week-end experience for all of us. Emporium is not far from the city center and it is quite cheap to go by taxi.

Bottom line

I don't want to be miss understood I'm not obsessed by cloths,cosmetics and all esthetic things on a contrary, I'm just suggesting that some times is wonderfully to have some time for your one and spend it as you like it.
